Tiles for Travel

Tiles for Travel is a community-driven mahjong fundraiser benefiting the Eye on Grace Foundation. By gathering your friends to play, you’re helping ocular melanoma patients travel for life-saving treatment. Learn more about our mission and our impact in 2025.

Tiles for Travel invites hosts to gather friends for a mahjong party on a mission. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, this event is about community, connection, and compassion. Hosts organize a mahjong gathering and invite guests to participate with a $25 per-person minimum donation, all supporting Eye on Grace’s Travel Grant Program.

How it Works:

FOR HOSTS

  • Hosts agree to host a party (anywhere and any size that suits you) during September.

  • Set up a team site on Givebutter:

    • Click HERE, choose REGISTER and create an account.

    • Pick “START A TEAM.”

    • Name your team (something your guests will recognize), upload a picture and set your own goal. We recommend a minimum of $400.

  • Designate your gift - choose Tiles for Travel.

  • Pay your entry fee/donation. (Note that you can reduce the OPTIONAL Givebutter tip percentage down to zero).

  • Share your unique team link when inviting your guests to your party. 

  • We’ll provide a digital invitation and a digital kit of resources to support you. We’ll also send you a party kit (information about Eye on Grace, cocktail napkins, notepads and pens), a door prize package to give away at your party, and a hostess gift to say thank you.

YOUR GUESTS:

  • When they accept your invitation, they’ll use your Givebutter link, click REGISTER, choose “JOIN A TEAM” and select your name to register and make their $25 (minimum) donation. (Note that they can reduce the OPTIONAL Givebutter tip percentage down to zero).

Prizes

There are three prize categories. The largest fundraiser in each category can choose a prize from an assortment of gift card options, including Amazon, Anthropologie, Oh My Mahjong and more.

  • Small party (12 players or fewer): $150 value

  • Medium party: (13 – 24 players): $300 value

  • Large party (more than 25 players): $500 value
