From Our Grant Recipients

Rhonda Newhouse

Eight years ago, Rhonda Newhouse received a diagnosis of uveal melanoma. Two years ago, the disease progressed to her liver. Rhonda and her husband, who are retired and live in Tennessee, have since made numerous trips to seek care and second opinions – including six visits to Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida for PHP/HepaZato treatments and follow-up scans.

“Asking for or receiving assistance was something we never imagined doing, and honestly, we struggled with the idea at first,” says Rhonda. “But Eye on Grace has been such a blessing. The travel and lodging expenses that come with treatment add up quickly. Their support has lifted that financial burden from our shoulders and provided peace of mind during one of the most challenging periods of our lives.

“We are deeply grateful for their generosity and compassion.  We have come to realize that accepting help is not a sign of weakness—it is simply allowing others to walk alongside us on our difficult journey.”
