Kimberley Breault

Kimberley Breault and her wife, Jenn, have decided that they’re not going to give up the good things in life just because of all the bad. The bad, for Kimberley, is a choroidal melanoma diagnosis is October 2021.

They live in Kissimmee, FL and Kimberley travels to both Miami (5 hours away) and Philadelphia, PA for treatment. “At first, we robbed Peter to pay Paul,” she says. Kimberley worked part-time for Disney but had to take off for a year after her diagnosis. She had brachytherapy November 2021, started a clinical trial in Philadelphia in January, and now endures the usual regimen of scans, Avastin shots and doctor visits.

Jenn read about Eye on Grace online and signed Kimberley up. “It’s like a godsend you didn’t know you needed. You don’t want to ask people for help, you just figure it out. Some things suffer,” she says.

“We didn’t realize what we were giving up paying for travel. I couldn’t afford to go as often as they wanted me to. Help from Eye on Grace has allowed me to the see the physician who I think is giving me the best care. People shouldn’t have to make that choice: between what they can afford and the best treatment available,” Kimberley says.
