Jimmi Lee RiverKamp
On February 14, 2025, Jimmie Lee Riverkamp’s world stopped when her retina specialist delivered the crushing news: “You have uveal melanoma and six months to live.”
Determined to fight, she sought out cancer specialists near her home in Texas—only to discover that very few oncologists treat this rare disease.
Through the Eye on Grace Foundation and A Cure in Sight Zoom meetings, she learned of doctors in Philadelphia who specialize in uveal melanoma. When she learned in May that her cancer had metastasized, she made her first appointment at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Jimmie Lee is currently undergoing four rounds of chemoembolization (CE), which allows her to fight her disease while fully participating in her life.
In November, she traveled to Colorado with family for her great-niece’s wedding, a special moment that she doesn’t take for granted. “None of this would be possible without Ashley and support from the Eye on Grace Foundation. I am forever in their debt and thank God every day for putting them and my doctors in my path,” Jimmie Lee says.
