Leticia Garza

Leticia Garza travels alongside her husband, Steve, as he seeks treatment for ocular melanoma.

Steve was diagnosedin January 2025, and within just eight months, the cancer had spread to his bones. He is currently participating in the IMA-203-101 clinical trial with Immatics, which is developing a T-cell therapy targeting cancers that express the tumor antigen PRAME. As part of his treatment, Steve recently spent 15 days in the hospital, and Eye on Grace helped make it possible for Leticia to remain by his side throughout that time.

“Traveling with my husband provides him with emotional support, comfort, and reassurance that his family is with him,” Leticia says. “It helps reduce his anxiety and reminds him he is not alone. Being present also ensures we don’t miss important information when doctors and nurses discuss treatment plans. My role is to listen, ask questions, and manage the details so he can focus on recovery,” she says.

Extended travel for treatment requires Leticia to step away from work and spend timeapart from family, creating emotional strain for everyone involved.

“Eye on Grace has been an incredible source of support during this challenging journey,” she shares. “When my husband was hospitalized for 15 days, they provided lodging, which was a tremendous relief. It removed a major worry and allowed me to focus entirely on his care and well-being. Eye on Grace helped makea difficult time more manageable and reminded us that we are not alone in this fight,”she says.

Leticia is deeply grateful to Eye on Grace donors whose generosity makes a profound difference for patients and caregivers alike. “By easing the burden of expenses that come on top of hospital bills, medications, and lost income, you help remove a significant source of stress during an already overwhelming time.”
